Happy Halloween 2012!

Hope everyone is having a happy and safe Halloween~!
I hope that everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy is doing ok...  ><
It turned out to be quite frightful!!

Being the anti-social person that I am, the only celebrating for this holiday that I ever do is online-related, and usually on sites or games.  Unfortunately, I was extremely pressed for time this year and couldn't participate in anything much, just got sample tastes of events on Gaia Online, Eden Eternal (which I downloaded again since my boyfriend got caught in an "auto-renew AP" trap), and my two current iPod app addictions, Happy Street and Tiny Farm.  And of course, having fun seeing some of the cool costumes and pumpkin carvings on Pinterest, Brit + Co., and Imgur~

Wish that I had more time to do the Gaia Halloween event... ><
Halloween shops in Happy Street
Halloween candies in Tiny Farm
...Just when I thought that the horses couldn't get any uglier...
Even though I've been trying to get the special dracula cow, I have
to visit other people's farms to see the other Halloween animals.

Paint your pumpkins with black chalkboard paint and decorate them with white or colored chalk.
Must try someday!

Not one for pumpkin carving, but I definitely would consider
doing and LED light pumpkin, they're so pretty!

Minecraft 1.4.2 Update!

YAY~!  The 1.4.2 Update for Minecraft is finally out, and I'm especially excited about the bolded items (FINALLY!!  NEW TYPES OF FOOD!!), but also curious about how the anvils, witches, bats, leather dying, and new potions will work out.  So many things to discover!  But most of all, WE CAN HAVE PICTURES OF POTATOES ON OUR WALLS NOW (whether normal, baked, or poisonous)!

 ....
Now the only trick is trying to actually finding time to play.  orz
Here's some of the highlights of what I did really enjoy during the super short time (less than 30 minutes, urk) when I got to play with some of the new update content:

The Pretty Scary Update!
+ Added a beacon
+ Added flower pots
+ Added item frames

+ Added anvils
+ Added cobblestone walls
+ Added pumpkin pies
+ Added carrots and potatoes
+ Carrots can be put on a stick to control pigs while riding

+ Added a boss mob
+ Added a new skeleton type
+ Added witches   Ehhh?!?  o_O
+ Added bats
+ Added mob heads that can be placed
+ Zombies now infect villagers, but can also be cured
+ Added wooden button
+ Items can be cloned with the “pick block” action in Creative Mode
+ Items can be quickly moved to the hotbar by pressing 1 through 9 while hovering an item
+ Added /difficulty, /spawnpoint, /weather, /gamerule and /clear commands
+ Added “target selectors” for commands
+ Added option to hide capes
+ Added option to toggle vertical synch
+ Added customization to superflat worlds
+ Minor additions to the world generator
+ New potion recipes
+ Leather armor can be dyed

* Maps now start more zoomed in, and can be extended
* Redstone repeaters can now be set into a “locked” position
* New sound effects
* Portals to the Nether can now transport items and mobs
* Adventure mode now allows placing and removing blocks, but only when using the correct tools
* Changed method of placing sideways wood logs

Items can not only be placed in frames, but also rotated!
When you hit a frame with an item in it, both the original item
and the picture frame (now with item sprite of that item) will fall to the ground.
flower pots!
Wooden buttons

Giving your rustic cabin an even more natural touch
Mmmmm, pumpkin pie...  Apple pies next, please!!
Golden carrot~  Yes, I'm obsessed with the item frames...
Odd 1.4.2 glitch where a person going to sleep will levitate and
float-bob awkwardly in their bed.
Can't wait to have fun exploring the other new update features!!

Gardening Updates- Goodbye Carrot top & Green Onions, Hello Chia & Amaranth!

Wow, it's been a while since I was able to blog about the progress of my indoor plants (or anything, actually, there is so much that I need to blog!), the last picture was on 10/2/12, I believe.

10.4.2012
Even though the onions had been doing so well only a day before, the one of the left had wilted, so I had to throw it out.  After this, I transplanted all of them into soil, moved the avocado outside into a larger planter, and planted some of the organic chia seeds (that I've been occasionally adding to my food for its awesome health benefits) from an awesome seller on Etsy, MoonlightMicroFarm (who threw in some oregano seeds as a freebie with my order) !
 ==================================
10.7.2012
10.8.2012
10.10.12
10.10.12
10.12.12- A very wilted green onion...
10.12.12 - The carrot top was rotten, so I had to dig it out
10.12.12
10.16.12- Super hot days + forgetting to water them  >.<
10.16.12 - I was upset to see that something had broken off a leaf
(visible on the left)
 ==================================
After stumbling upon articles about how amazinggg amaranth is, I decided to order some organic burgundy amaranth seeds from EarthCareSeeds
on Etsy, and not only were they organic, a better price than on Ebay sellers, and quickly shipped, but they also included a freebie, Kale seeds.  YAY!  I was so happy that I recommended them to my friend, who also purchased the listing from them!

Wasn't super sure how to plant them, but the instructions said that they could be started indoors, so
I planted a couple seeds on 10.18.12
10.23.12 -  They sprouted!!

Mini post- Halloween Happy Street Update

Ahhhhhhh~~!! I've been really happy with the last Happy Street update that added new shops and more storyline quests, but this Halloween update blew me away!! ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆

The fortune wheel got big prize boosts, and shops now sell items that the villagers can hold- mini bouquets from the flower, cotton candy from the candy shop, various masks from the mask shop, comic books from the comic store, and mini gameboys from the toy shop !! And that's only what I've seen so far, I know that there's more that was listed, I'm having so much fun watching the villagers closely and discovering new items and things!
(((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

HAPPY STREET 大好き!!! <3 <3

Toma Diaries- First Time Outside!

10/11/12:

Today was a busy day! For most of it, I let Toma rest while I was working and reading.

Around 5:30 pm, though, I woke him up and took him outside for the first time! At first he looked intimidated, then he started exploring.(^ω^)

After he seemed to relax outside, I put him on my shoulder and went on my short evening walk. I stopped along the way to let him inspect some beautiful plumerias.

When we came back home, he sat on the fence for a while, taking in the cool tradewinds, ahhh!~

Then we went back to my room and he lay down reflectively and rested on my bed for a while.

After dinner, he joined me outside to do some reading while basking in the last light of the peaceful and gorgeous evening. (^ν^)
